Internship FAQs

Does my university need an existing agreement with The ALLICE Collective?

No. While The ALLICE Collective has established partnerships with several universities, students from other institutions are welcome to apply. If an affiliation agreement is required by your academic program, we can work with your university to explore establishing one before your placement begins.

How long do internships last?

Internship duration varies by academic program and internship track. Clinical & Community Mental Health interns must commit to a minimum of two semesters. Marketing & Communications and Nonprofit Operations & Administration internships may be completed in one semester, depending on academic requirements and organizational needs.

Can I complete my internship hours at more than one site?

Yes. The ALLICE Collective accepts students who are completing internship hours at another approved placement site, provided they can meet our internship requirements and scheduling needs. Students are responsible for confirming that their academic programs permit placements at multiple sites.

Are internships paid?

Paid internship opportunities are not available at this time.

Can I participate in more than one internship track?

Interns may only participate in one internship track per semester. However, they may apply for a different track in a subsequent semester.

What availability is expected of clinical interns?

Internship schedules vary based on academic requirements, required hours, and organizational needs. When reviewing applications, we consider each applicant's availability alongside our current scheduling needs, which may include weekday mornings, evenings, and Saturdays.

Are remote internships available?

As a community-based organization, The ALLICE Collective requires some in-person availability across all internship tracks. Depending on the track and assigned responsibilities, certain activities may be completed remotely. However, fully remote internships are not available at this time.

How do I apply for an internship?

Applications are accepted during the designated application periods listed above. Students must complete our online internship application and provide any requested supporting materials. Applicants selected for further consideration will be contacted regarding next steps.

Professional Development & Continuing Education

The ALLICE Collective offers professional development workshops for mental health professionals, students, and others working in community-based settings. Our trainings center the experiences of under-resourced and historically marginalized communities, with attention to the social, cultural, and systemic factors that influence mental health and well-being. Through interactive discussions, case-based learning, and practical activities, participants are encouraged to critically examine their approaches, strengthen professional judgment, and apply culturally responsive practices in their work.

Select workshops will also offer continuing education (CE) hours for licensed mental health professionals.

Workplace & Organizational Training

The ALLICE Collective provides training for businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations seeking to support mental well-being, strengthen professional relationships, and develop culturally responsive practices.

Our training areas include cultural responsiveness, workplace stress and burnout, communication and professional relationships, and trauma-informed practices. Organizations may request existing workshops or training adapted to their specific needs.
