Felicia Young is a community advocate with more than two decades of experience strengthening families, expanding educational access, and driving program excellence across Houston and Louisville. Her career spans impactful roles at Family Scholar House, Metro United Way, and Louisville Metro Government, where she has led program development, volunteer mobilization, and strategic community partnerships that uplift families and advance equitable opportunity.
At Family Scholar House, Felicia has played a pivotal role in expanding the organization’s mental‑health focus, championing trauma‑informed practices and holistic supports that honor the lived experiences of single‑parent college students. Her leadership reflects a deep belief that mental well‑being is foundational to academic success, economic mobility, and generational change—an approach that continues to shape the organization’s wraparound service model.
Felicia’s commitment to equity, parent leadership, and youth development is evident throughout her career. She has helped build a large‑scale out‑of‑school‑time quality system, organized city‑wide education summits to empower parents as advocates, and earned certifications in quality instructional coaching, community health work, and financial coaching.
